Bear Scholar Program

BEAR SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Class of 2027

Students graduating from Bradley High School will be recognized as a BEAR Scholar by meeting the following criteria:

  • Earn a minimum of 12 Honors Credits (10 Courses must be academic)
  • 3.5 + GPA (by the end of the 7th Semester) NO grade changes or retroactive honors credits from previous years will be considered.
  • Have a minimum of a 19 composite score on the ACT
  • No Out-of-School Suspensions (drug or alcohol related)
  • 95% Attendance
  • No D’s or F’s for any final grade (including Dual Enrollment) through the 8th semester

*Any student transferring from another school system will be subject to review for qualifying as a BEAR Scholar.

*To qualify for Valedictorian and Salutatorian, a student must be a Bear Scholar with the highest numerical average.

RECOGNITION AT GRADUATION

  • BEAR Scholar – Wears a White Cap and Gown
  • 90+ numerical average (cumulative) – Wears a Gold Cord

Class of 2028 and Beyond

In accordance with Bradley County Schools Board Policy, Bradley Central High School will be transitioning to using the Latin Honor System denoting a student's academic success during graduation. Under this new model ALL students will graduate in a black gown and cap, however students who achieve varying levels of academic achievements will have distinguishing gold stripes, and/or a white stole. Below is the Latin Honors System, academic requirements, how a student's graduation gown will be distinguished.

 

Cum Laude: GPA - 3.5-3.74 & 19+ ACT (1 Gold Stripe) 

Magna Cum Laude: GPA - 3.75 - 3.99 & 20+ ACT (2 Gold Stripes) 

Summa Cum Laude: GPA - 4.0 & Bear Scholar Requirements & 21+ ACT (3 Gold Stripes/White Stole)

 

Bradley Central High School will still maintain their policy for how students will meet the additional requirements to earn additional graduation regalia.
