Safety and Security
Safety and Security at Bradley Central
The safety of all students, staff, and community members is a priority at Bradley Central High School. To provide a safe school, the following measures will be in place:
Building Access
The building opens at 7:30 am. The two doors available for entry are the Cafeteria Lobby and the Gym Lobby. All other doors will be open at 8:05 am. After 8:30 am, all doors other than the Main Entrance to the building are locked for safety purposes. Anyone entering the building for any reason after 8:30 is to use the Main Entrance. Students will be housed in the cafeteria and the gymnasium between the times of 7:30 am and 8:05 am. At 8:05 am, students will be released to prepare for the beginning of the school day. The restroom that is available before 8:05 am is the one located in the gym lobby. A student in any other part of the building in the morning, without permission, is considered out-of-area and will be addressed as such. Car drivers are not to loiter in their cars or the parking lots. Once a student arrives on campus, they are to enter the building without delay.
Campus Guests
All visitors on Bradley Central’s campus must register in the Main Office. Visitors will then be escorted or directed to their destination. Student guests are not permitted on campus without prior approval from the administration.
Campus Parking for Students
Parking permits will be sold to students during Orientation (Deployment Days) and in the Attendance Office (A-30). Students must have the following documentation in order to register their vehicle and purchase a Parking Permit:
- Current BCHS ID Badge
- Valid Driver’s License
- Tag Number
- $60.00
The Parking Permit MUST be hung from the rearview mirror. This permit MUST be clearly visible at all times the vehicle is on campus. If a student should drive a different vehicle from time to time, the student MUST still follow the parking permit procedure. If a student’s parking permit is LOST or STOLEN, the student is responsible for replacing it immediately. Replacement permits cost $5.00. Parking on campus is a privilege and not a right, and as a result, parking privileges can be revoked for school rule infractions, excessive absenteeism, and safety-related issues. Student parking is restricted to the areas of the parking lot designated for student use. Students parking in any other area on campus are subject to disciplinary action, loss of parking privilege, traffic citation issued by local law enforcement, and/or towing of the vehicle at the owner’s expense. Transporting students off campus who are not authorized to leave will result in the loss of parking privileges. Students are not permitted in any parking lot during school hours without a pass from the Attendance Office (A-30). Bradley Central High School will not be responsible for loss, damage, or theft. The owner assumes full responsibility. The owner may be assessed a monetary penalty if they continue to park in the wrong parking lot.
Student IDs
All Bradley Central administration, faculty, students and staff are expected to carry identification badges daily. If lost or destroyed, a student must purchase their new identification for school use. Each badge and lanyard will cost $5.
- At the beginning of each school year, each student will be given a Student ID Card and lanyard. Students may provide their own lanyard that is free of profane or inappropriate words, topics, graphics, pictures, etc. It must be school appropriate.
- The Student ID Card must be in the possession of the student at all times while at school.
- A student may not use, wear, or possess another student’s Safety ID Card.
- The Student ID Card must be presented to administrators, faculty, staff or person of authority, immediately upon request.
- The Student ID Card and lanyard are not to be defaced in any way. A defaced Student Identification Card includes: unauthorized stickers, and/or writing or drawing on the front or back of the card, or altering the card including name, picture, barcode, etc.
- Lost, stolen, altered, damaged and /or defaced Student ID Cards must be replaced immediately. The cost of replacement of the card shall be the responsibility of the wearer, unless deemed otherwise by an administrator.
- Failure to comply with the Safety Identification Policy will result with the following consequences:
